How it began

I started painting in 1999, story. Was on a trip to France with friends that included a couple of plein air painters. They asked me to join them on one of their outings and I painted my first painting in Avignon. It was awful. They were very encouraging and I stuck with it. Over the years I’ve learned from these same painters and taken many classes. It never ceases to challenge and there’s nothing like the feeling of having done (what I think) is a good painting.
